Beginners Yoga Series

Join Lisa in this 6-week beginner yoga series, every Sunday from 1:15-2:30pm. This series focuses on safe alignment of common yoga poses, how to use props to make poses more accessible and strengthening your overall yoga practice. Workshop transitions that frequently appear in class, as well as break down a basic sun salutation. This series is for the beginner, as well as the student that wants to deepen their understanding of yoga asanas (poses).
Week 1: introduction and gentle yoga.
Week 2: Wonderful resting poses. Learn what resting poses are and their purpose. We will workshop the downward dog and Introduce sun salutations.
Week 3: Hello heart openers. Learn proper muscle engagement and safety in back bends, cobras and the chaturanga. We will continue to add to the sun salutation for safe transitions.
Week 4: it’s all about standing warrior poses. We will workshop muscle engagement, safe transitions and proper alignment for the most common standing poses.
Week 5: Bring on the balance. Working on a variety of standing balancing poses you will learn muscle engagement, alignment and tips to help you with your balance.
Week 6: Bring it all together. Take what you learned and practice it as we slow flow together.
